Pauline Friis [Anderson] was born in Denmark May 6, 1874. She came with her parents to America in 1882. The family resided in Iowa during the early part of her life and afterwards moved to Lincoln county and settled on a farm near Lake Benton.

She was married to Mr. John Anderson of Lake Benton February 19, 1901. One child was born to this union, William Anderson on this city. Her husband past away seven years past. Since that time she and her son have resided in the home which she and her husband established in Lake Benton, where she passed away Wednesday, October 20th, after a lingering illness.

Deceased was a devout member of the Baptist church of this city.

She leaves to mourn her loss a son, William Anderson and wife; her parents, Mr and Mrs Andrew Friis of this city; two sisters, Mrs James Wordan [sic] of Brookings, Mrs Iver Holdt of Lake Benton; one brother, Hans Friis of Atlanta, Georgia, and other relatives.

She was of a genial, kindly disposition and will be greatly missed in her home, her church and in the community. She made many devoted friends and her death was a shock to all.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. J R Spiller, pastor of the charge, and interment made in the local cemetery.

The many friends of the family extend sincere sympathy to them in their deep sorrow.
