Visitation and viewing is 11 a.m. Monday at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. Vigil service is 6 p.m. Tuesday at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. Funeral mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Bill Seetch officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Scheberle was born Nov. 29, 1916 in Hyacinth, Kan. to Alexander and Elizabeth (Basgall) Engle. She moved with her family to the Sterling area, where she attended school. She worked as a housekeeper until her marriage to Harold F. Scheberle Dec. 26, 1938.
After her marriage, she worked as a homemaker until 1973, when she went to work at Northeastern Junior College in the Food Service Department. She retired from her job in 1988. She had resided in Sterling up until her death.
She was a charter member of the B.P.O. Does, the V.F.W. Auxil iary, she was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary from 1975 to 1977, 1982 and 1983. She was also a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress, St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Mother Cabrini Altar and Rosary Society. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines.
Mrs. Scheberle is survived by her children, Evelyn Weingardt and husband Richard of Denver; Jeanne Fisher of Sebastopol, Judy of Irving, Texas; Paul Scheberle and wife Sydney Landis of Louisville, Tenn.; sister, Esther Kielian and husband Stanley of Arvada; brothers, Herman Engle and wife Zelma of Denver; Walter Engle and wife Catherine of Denver; Richard Engle and wife Emma of Denver; Jack Engle of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren and an expected great-grandchild.She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Scheberle in April 1973, sisters Kathryn Bauer and
Marcella Viele, brothers Joe and Albert Engle.
