Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday from the Walters-Chaney Funeral Home for Harold F. Scheberle, 56, of 218 S. Front who died at his home Sunday.
The Rev. Walter Jaeger will be the celebrant. Burial will
follow in Riverside cemetery. Scripture service will be conducted 7:30 o'clock this evening from the Walters- Chaney Funeral Home.
Mr. Scheberle was born Oct. 4, 1916, in St. Mary, Neb., the son of Frank and Mary Scheberle. He moved to Sterling as a small child and graduated from St. Anthony's High School in 1935. He married Dorothy C. Engle, Dec. 26, 1938, in Sterling and worked for the Winter Cigar Co., for several years before going to work at Eastman Bros., in 1950. Mr. Scheberle was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy from Oct. 23, 1943 until Dec. 22, 1945.
He was a member of the Sterling Elks Lodge No. 1336 and was awarded a 25 year membership pin and the American Legion Post. No. 20.
Mr. Scheberle is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy C. Scheberle of 218 S. Front; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Weingardt of Sterling and Mrs. Jeanette McTiernan of Denver; two sons, Ronald F. Scheberle of San Francisco, Calif., and Paul Scheberle of Sterling; his mother, Mrs. Mary Scheberle of Sterling; five brothers, Leo J. Scheberle of Denver, Arthur Scheberle of Sterling, Brother
B. Joseph Scheberle of Metairie, La., Martin Scheberle of Amarillo, Tex., and Frank Scheberle of Bremerton, Wash.; three sisters, Sister Doris Scheberle of Ponca City, OkIa., Mrs. Theresa Rinaldo of Sterling and Mrs. Mary Ann Hammett of Broomfield and four grandchildren.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Sterling
American Legion Post No. 20. Walters-Chaney Funeral
