Mrs. Anna Tornow Waite died on July 23, 1975 in the hospital at Council Bluffs; she was 84. She was born in Persia, IA on Dec. 12, 1890, the daughter of Gustav (Prussian immigrant) and Louise (King) Tornow. She married John F. Waite on Dec 16, 1916, in Woodbine, IA. She was the mother of six children.
Mrs. Waite was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1963, 2 infant children, and a son Paul F. Waite, who died in 1954. She is survived by a son Lloyd "Bud" Tornow and his wife Maggie of Glidden, a son Darrell Waite and his wife Doris of Missouri Valley, a daughter Joy Black of Council Bluffs, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Waite was laid to rest in the Woodbine cemetery next to her husband and son Paul.
Note: her husband's two half brothers were married to Anna's two cousins from the Tornow line: Lizzi Baker married Al Waite, and Minnie Baker married Bill Horn. Lizzi and Minnie's mother was a Tornow. See Find A Grave Memorial# 49570556.
