THE VILLAGES — Joe Crouch, 64, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

Mr. Crouch was born in Brown County, Ind., and moved to The Villages from Columbus, Ind., in 2004. He owned a consulting business for several years; was currently self-employed as a manufacturer's representative; and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Barb; brothers Curt, Columbus, Danny, Concrete, Wash.; and sister, Roberta Wells, Columbus.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, with visitation one hour prior to service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Marion County Humane Society, 110 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475. Online condolences may be left at hiers-baxley.com.

Joe Crouch of The Villages, Fla., passed away March 24, 2010. Originally from Columbus, he moved to The Villages in 2004.

He was born in Brown County Nov. 2, 1945, graduated from Columbus High School in 1964 and earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University in 1976. He was employed at Cummins Engine Company for 31 years, ran his own consulting business for several years and was currently self-employed as a manufacturer's representative.

Joe was an avid golfer and a loving caregiver to his three beautiful white cats.

He married Barb Benson Oct. 13, 1972, and she survives. Other survivors include two brothers, Curt Crouch of Columbus and Danny Crouch of Concrete, Wash.; and a sister, Roberta Wells of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by a son, Troy Crouch of Alpharetta, Ga., and his mother, Ruth Anthony of Columbus.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marion County Humane Society, 110 NW 10th St., Ocala, FL 34475.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages.
