Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 24 at St. Martin Catholic Church, Woodstock with Fr. Martin Schaefer officiating.
Casket bearers were Bob and Ron Peschon, Dennis Polaschek, Delbert Feyereisen, Ed O'Hearn, and Morgan Smith.
Interment was in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
Albert Henry Peschon was born to Joe and Kathrine (Kirsch) Peschon on May 12, 1915 on the family farm in Gray Township of Pipestone County, two miles south of Hatfield.
He was baptized and received his First Holy Communion and Confirmation at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock. He attended school in Woodstock. Upon completion of his education, he helped on the farm.
He married Evelyn Wentzel on Feb. 10, 1944 at St. Martin Catholic Church. Following their marriage, they farmed west of Woodstock until 1955. While living on the farm, he became employed at Gordon Ahrendt Implement and various other part-time jobs. In 1970, Albert bought a gas station in Woodstock and built a new home across the street from the gas station. He continued to operate the gas station until retirement in 1988.
After retirement Albert and Evelyn spent 13 winters in Harlington, Texas with many friends. Evelyn preceded him in death in October 1993. After her death, Albert continued to live in Woodstock. On Sept. 23, 2005 he became a resident of the Ashton Care Center.
He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and his special friend, Cynthia Brady.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; five sisters, Mina Baathe, Kathrine Kush, Sue Klosterman, Mary Melcher and Ida Kelly; three brothers, Peter, Fred and John Peschon.
