Bruno Zarantenello was born Abramo Luigi Zarantonello on September 20, 1906 in Valdagno, Vicenza, Veneto, Italy. His parents Antonio and Teresa Zarantonnello emigrated to the US in 1907 when Bruno was just 7 months old. After arriving in the U.S., the young Zarantonello family settled 50 miles outside of Chicago at Lehigh, Illinois where they lived on a farm with their growing family. Antonio also worked at a stone quarry. In the 1930´s the family moved back to Chicago and settled in Kensington, a Chicago neighborhood. In addition to Bruno the children of Antonio and Teresa were: Mary, Estelle, Eugene, Reno, Ida, Mabel and Josephine.

On December 27, 1930, Bruno married Eva Rossi in Chicago, Illinois. They later divorced after the birth of their daughter Delores and Bruno moved to Michigan. Bruno and Eva had two children, Donald and Delores.

In 1940, Bruno was a boarder living in the home of Emma Alberts (Bebensee) they later would marry. They lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan and later moved to Los Angeles, California. Bruno died on May 28, 1974 in California and is buried next to Emma at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Whittier, California
