He was born in Brady and he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Lavern Cox of Odessa; sons, Joe Corwin Cox of Slaton, and Carter Jay Cox of Odessa; daughters Crystal Ann Smith and Connie Jo Poucher of Odessa and nine grandchildren.
