Genevieve O. Pendleton, 87, of Chemung View Apartments, Athens, Pa., and formerly of Warren Center, Pa., died peacefully on Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2007, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. She was born on Jan. 4, 1920, in Elmira, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Maye (Turk) Ostrander. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sayre. Genevieve was an avid reader and enjoyed attending Friday Bible Study at the Chemung View Apartments. A thoughtful and caring lady, Genevieve was known by many as an "adopted" mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Genevieve is survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanette Pendleton of Warren Center; several nieces, nephews and their families; and many friends at Chemung View Apartments, among them special friends and caregivers Mary Walker and Ned Vinson. Genevieve was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Wheaton, and second husband, Arthur Pendleton; a brother, Turk Ostrander; and a sister, Louise Judge. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services and a celebration of Genevieve's life at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Warren Center Baptist Church, Warren Center. Interment will follow in the Warren Center Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
