Antonina Barbara, , age 94, passed away on Monday, March 22 in Stanton, California. Known to her friends and family as Nina, she was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 3, 1915 as Antonina Desiderata Ingargiola. There she grew up as the daughter of Mariano and Carmela (Arini) Ingargiola who emigrated from Italy in the early 1900s. As a young woman she worked in the fashion industry as a skilled dressmaker. In 1947 she married Olimpio Barbara and later moved to Richmond Hill, New York to raise two daughters. After they retired in the 70s, she and her husband "Bob" moved to Westminster, California where she enjoyed crafts, traveling, and the joys of many family activities. She spent the last two years of her life at Quaker Gardens a retirement community in Stanton. Her great sadness was the deaths of those she loved - especially her daughter, Carol and her husband, Bob. She is survived by her sister, Jean Eckert and brother-in-law, Nicholas of Kona, Hawaii; and her daughter, Constance Schaeffer, son-in-law Michael, grandson Joshua, and great-grandson Matthew, all of Westminster. Memorial Service was held at Polycarp Catholic Church, in Stanton. Interment at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach.
