Mrs. Martha L. Davis, age 79, died at her home, 419 East Fourteenth Street, after several weeks illness. The body was taken to the Valorous C. Rector mortuary, Markleville, then returned to the residence yesterday. Short services will be at the house at 12:30 p.m. today before the funeral service at the Sugar Grove Methodist church, near New Castle, at 2 p. m. The Rev. W. E. Sanders, New Castle, will officiate with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors are three grandchildren, Mrs. Malcolm McDonald, 419 East Fourteents street; Mrs. Harold Butler, Anderson; and Mrs. George A. Maxey, Miami, Fla.; three step-daughters, Mrs. William Hollaway, Mrs. Joseph Whitworth, and Mrs. Walter Knight, all of Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Leonard Collins, near Pendleton; a step-son, Homer Davis, Cleveland, Ohio; and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
