Chilton – Mrs. Augusta Caroline Keller, 88, passed away Tuesday at her home. Born in Hanover, Germany, she came to the United States with her parents at the age of 15, settling in the township of Rantoul. In April 1873, she was married to Jacob Keller, prominent Chilton business man and since that time she had lived in the community. Mrs. Keller died in 1889.
Mrs. Keller was a member of the Ladies' Aid society here, sponsoring the upkeep of the Hillside cemetery, and she was president of the society for many years. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was prominent in the activities of St. Boniface Episcopal church of which she was a member.
Surviving are three sons, Carl A. Keller of Wilmette, Ill., Lewis A. Keller of Dowagiac, Mich., and Jake Keller, Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Gebelien, Chilton; one sister, Elize Hedrich of Vero Beach, Fla.
Funeral services will be held in St. Boniface Church Thursday morning, the Rev. A. E. Pflaum to officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery.
