Estell was born May 2, 1913 in Franklin County, Texas to Gid and Leala Spangler. She married Weldon Barrett in 1928 at Mount Vernon, Texas. They moved to Dallas in 1941 and both worked building planes for the war. Weldon passed away in 1944. She married Jess Watson in 1949 and they moved to Springlake. Jess was retired from Dallas City Fire Department and passed away in 1967. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Springlake and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed cooking, fishing, bowling, and was a marvelous seamstress. She became a Christian at an early age and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also taught sunday school class and bible school classes.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Marthell Hinson and her husband, Kenneth of Springlake, two grandsons, Kevin Hinson and his wife, Kelly of Atlanta, and Kent Hinson and his wife, Janice of Lubbock, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
