Samuel married Sarah Elizabeth Bailey on 20 February 1889. They did their Temple work on May 3, 1899 in the Manti Temple( Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Saints),Utah, having their children sealed to them.
Samuel died died March 18, 1923 in Manti, Utah.
They had five children- Pearl Elizabeth Parry 1891 ;John Samuel Parry 1893 ; Charlotte Cordelia Parrry 1895; Hugh Parry 1898; and Edith Eleanor Parry 1900
"The Salt Lake City Newspaper Tribune-Special to the Tribune-Manti,March 23- Former Railroad Engineer Laid at Rest at Manti- Funeral services for Samuel M. Parry were held yesterday afternoon in the Manti Tabernacle, Bishop N.R.Pederson presiding.
The speakers were George H. Bradley, H.S. Kerr of Provo, Bishop Ernest Madison and President L.R. Anderson. The opening prayer was given by J.B. Henrie and the bendiction by President J.Y.Jenson.Special musical numbers were rendered by Mrs. Vera H. Keller, Professor and Mrs. E.E. Johnson and Mrs. Mildred B. Odell.
Interment was in the City Cemetery. There were many beautiful floral offerings and the services were well attended.
Mr. Parry was one of the most widely known railroad engineer in this section of the state, having been employed in that capacity for more than thirty-five years. He was chief engineer of the Sanpete Valley railroad."
He was the engineer of "The Little Train"
