From the January 12, 1953 issue of the Illinoian-Star newspaper, Beardstown, Illinois: Mrs. Imogene Condit Becker of Astoria died at Schmitt Memorial hospital in this city at 3 o'clock yesterday morning after a brief illness. Mrs. Becker suffered a stroke and was found in her apartment in Astoria Saturday noon. She was brought to the local hospital Saturday afternoon where she suffered a second stroke, which caused her death. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Methodist church in Astoria. The body will be brought to Beardstown for burial in the Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs. Becker was a sister of Rankin Condit of Astoria, cousin of F. M. Condit. Her husband, Harry Becker, formerly of Beardstown, preceded her in death.
