Lea A. Delzer died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona with her family at her side. She had just celebrated her 81st birthday. Lea was born on March 3, 1929 in Brawley, Imperial County, California to the late Homer and Irma (Bruce) Anthony. She moved to Arizona, as a young girl, in 1938.

Lea dedicated her life to serving others. She chose one of the most noble service oriented careers to work in; that of nursing. She was a registered nurse for more than 35 years, 16 of which, she served as the Director of Nursing at Community Hospital in Phoenix.

Lea was an active member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Show Low, Arizona. While there she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and Bible Class Teacher. She truly loved her church family and many there will miss her sweet acts of kindness.

Lea is survived by: her husband, Robert Delzer of Show Low, Arizona; 8 children: Michael Nelson (Debra), David Nelson, Mark Nelson, Catherine Jeffries (Bill), Mary Nelson, Sharon Carr, Sean Nelson (Jeanne), Steven Delzer; 1 brother, Bruce Anthony (Lorraine); 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The Recitation of the Rosary will begin 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 26, 2010 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens Avenue in Show Low, Arizona followed by the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M., also at the church.

Public Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., 1 hour prior to the Rosary Service at the church. The concluding committal service and interment will follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
