John W. Tollenaar 79 of Sigourney died Monday morning March 18, at the Keolul county hospital, where he had been a patient for a week. He was born in Pella the son of Henry and Minnie Van Gender Tollenaar he married Faye Barr in 1908
Mr. Tollenaar was a section boss for the Rock Island in Sigourney and Keokuk for 47 years
Besides his wife who is a patient at Bales Guest Home in Sigourney he is survived by 2 grandsons, Ronald of Fort Riley, Kansas and richard of Sigourney one brother Bill of Ankeny he was preceded in death by a son Tom who died December 5, 1962
