Mr. Poole was born, in England in 1855. He descended from a good English family. He was married to Miss Mary Jane Barbee in Murphysboro in 1884. Mrs. Poole proceeded
her husband in death about five years ago. To this union were born nine children, four of whom survive: Rachel, Roy and Lucy of Benton and Susanah of Chicago.
Mr. Poole had worked in the mining profession since he was 13 years of age. He lived in Murphysboro for a period of 22 years proceeding 1901. He then moved to Benton and had resided there since.
The deceased is survived by three of the five brothers: O. D. Poole of Joplin, Missouri; E. A. Poole of Harrisburg and A. H, Poole of Murphysboro; one of the three sisters, Susanah McDowell of Murphysboro.
E. E. Poolo had been a member of the English Baptist church in England since 1879 and was also a member of the Miners Union Local number 3543 of Benton.
Funeral services will be held at Benton in the First Methodist church at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial in the Tower Grove cemetery of Murphysboro. The funeral cortege expects to arrive in this city about 3:30 o'clock.
