John Bol, 89, a native of The Netherlands, died at 4:40 AM Saturday, Sept. 4, 1976, at Milner Health Center, Rossville; he had been a patient there for two weeks and in ill health for three years. Born Dec. 6, 1886, he came to Lafayette as a child. On Feb. 24, 1909, he was married to Lena Cooper, who died Dec. 3, 1975.
Mr. Bol had farmed in the area for most of his life, formerly living near Stockwell. He was a member of Lafayette Reformed Christian Church, and Lafayette Christian School Society.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur J. Bol of Dayton and Lenard M. Bol of Brookston; a sister, Mrs. Della Hockema of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Henry, four brothers and three sisters.
