Obituary:
Elizabeth D. Stoutzenberg entered into rest August 26, 1898 in the 78th year of her age. Elizabeth Divers, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Salathiel Divers was born in Monroe County, Illinois, July 4, 1821 and passed the greater part of her younger life in that county. She was untined in marriage to Jacob Stoutzenberg, who was a merchant of Columbia, Illinois for a number of years. He purchased a farm near Marine, Illinois and it became the family home. Mr. Stoutzenberg died in Marine, Illiois 1879 and sisnce that time his wife remained upon the farm. Sometime last year she was removed from Marine to Greenville, where she could be under the care of her daughters, Mrs S. M. Hoiles and Mrs. W. A. Northcott. She was the mother of six six children, five of whom survive her. They are Joseph Stoutzenberg of Marine, Mrs. Anna Bierman and Sister Mary Isabel of St. Louis, Mrs. S. M. Hoiles and Mrs. W.A. Northcott of Greenville. The following are the children of the third generations. S.D. Hoiles, Clarence Eugine Hoiles, Adele Hoiles, Bessie Seymour Hoiles, Lucien Stoutzenberg Hoiles, Paul Bierman, Ralph Bierman, Ada Bierman, Cleavand Bierman, Annie Ione Bierman, Joseph Stoutzenberg, Jr., Florence SToutzenberg, Dorthy stoutzenberg and Any Allen Northcott. She also leaves one great grandchild, William MOrse Hoiles, Son of Mr. & Mrs. S.D. Hoiles and one brother George Divers of Columbia, Illinois. The internment took place in Montrose Cemetery. The remains of her husband and child who preceded her, will be brought and placed by her side as soon as practicable.
