Mrs. Thompson attended Texas Christian University at Fort Worth. She came to Amarillo in 1910 following her marriage to Miles G. Bivens, Amarillo pioneer, who died May 17, 1949.
She married Gen. Ernest O. Thompson in 1953.
Mrs. Thompson was a Gray Lady during World War II and worked with Child Welfare Clinics and Day Nurseries. She was a charter member of Junior League of Amarillo and the local chapter of the American Red Cross and was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
Survivors included one daughter, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law.
