Hedley Rites Held Sun. For Mrs. Pearl Mobley

Rites were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in the Hedley First United Methodist Church for Mrs. Pearl Louise Mobley, 90, of 514 No. Fillmore in Amarillo.

The Rev. Bill Watson, pastor of the Amarillo Buchanan Street Methodist Church, and the Rev. Billy Wilson, pastor of the Hedley Church, officiated.

The Order of the Eastern Star Hedley Lodge No. 413 held graveside rites. Burial was in Rowe Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home.

Pearl Louisa Mobley was born Dec. 26, 1879, at Dresden. She was united in marriage to Ruben Rab Mobley Nov. 26, 1899, at Dresden. The family came to Memphis in 1914, to Hedley in 1918, and Mrs. Mobley had been a resident of Amarillo since 1938.

Her husband passed away in 1931. Two children also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Mobley passed away Friday afternoon in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. She owned a cleaning pickup service.

She was a member of the Buchanan Street Methodist Church in Amarillo, the Hedley Eastern Star for over 50 years and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Blades of Hartley and Mrs. Jewel Whitney of Amarillo; two sons, W.E. of Amarillo and H. Mobley of Hedley; three brothers, Grover and Ben Milton, both of Dresden, and John of Amarillo; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pall bearers were Pete Land, Leroy Luttrell, Jim Roberts, Tige Hill, Royce Thigpen and Donald Christiansen.

Honorary pall bearers were Ray Moreman, Clyde Boyd, Clifford Johnson, Alfred Johnson, Herman Kirkpatrick, Frank Murray and Cullen Hunsaker.
