Christian Wilhelm Heinrichs, son of William Heinrichs and his wife, Wilhelmine, nee Smith, was born on January 5, 1868, in the state of Iowa.

In his infancy, he was received into communion with his Triune God through Holy Baptism.

At the age of three, he came with his parents to Thayer County, Nebraska, living for the greater part of his life near Kiowa.

On April 2, 1882, he was confirmed in the Christian faith by the Rev. John Meyer.

On March 20, 1890, he was united in holy wedlock with Wilhelmine Rentschler, the Rev. John Meyer officiating. This union was blessed with twelve children, of whom two, a son, Herman, and a daughter, Mrs. Marie Krienbring, preceded him in death.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Heinrichs made their home on a farm, a mile north of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Kiowa. They lived there for forty-nine years. For the last four years they made their home in Davenport.
