In his infancy, he was received into communion with his Triune God through Holy Baptism.
At the age of three, he came with his parents to Thayer County, Nebraska, living for the greater part of his life near Kiowa.
On April 2, 1882, he was confirmed in the Christian faith by the Rev. John Meyer.
On March 20, 1890, he was united in holy wedlock with Wilhelmine Rentschler, the Rev. John Meyer officiating. This union was blessed with twelve children, of whom two, a son, Herman, and a daughter, Mrs. Marie Krienbring, preceded him in death.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Heinrichs made their home on a farm, a mile north of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Kiowa. They lived there for forty-nine years. For the last four years they made their home in Davenport.
For about the last four years, Mr. Heinrichs had been suffering from a weak heart. He became weaker and weaker, until finally on May 28, at 5 a.m. he departed this life. He attained the age of 75 years, 4 months, and 23 days.
Mr. Heinrichs is survived by his widow, Mrs. Wilhelmine Heinrichs; six sons, Christ of Hastings, William of Edgar, Edgar, Edward, Walter, and Adolph of Kiowa, and Herbert of Davenport; four daughters, Mrs. Alma Wolf of Deshler, Mrs. Louise Wall, Mrs. Amanda McAdams and Mrs. Mildred Isernhagen all of Davenport; 26 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernst Heinrichs, of Carleton; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Atenhan, of Kiowa, and Mrs. Rita Getz, Ogallala.
Funeral services were held May 31 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Kiowa, the Rev. R. E. Frese officiating.
Burial was made in the church cemetery.
