Virgil Bartlett Foster is the son of Thomas Jay Foster and Annie Eliza Haywood. He is a brother to James Baxter, Thomas T, Robert L, Della, Zeb Vance and Obella Foster. His father died at the Western NC asylum in 1897. Virgil and his brother, James B, died at the NC asylum in Raleigh.
