Mary M. Rachau

Mary M Rachau, 89, formerly of rural Madisonburg, went to the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Hearthside Nursing Home in State College.
She was born on the family farm January 8, 1917 in Penn Township, the fifth child of the late William W. and Grace Wooddell Braucht.
She was married to Paul K Rachau on April 13, 1933. Paul preceded her in death on May 11, 2006
Surviving were one daughter M. Jane Slack and husband Nevin, of Lamar two sons; Robert W. and wife Joyce Rachau, of Spring Mills, and Lawrence D. Rachau of Madisonburg; six grandchildren Louis S. Slack of Spring Mills, Michael A. Slack, of Millheim, Linda A. Pietzsch of Plainsboro, New Jersey, Douglas S. Rachau, of Madisonburg Ronald Rachau, of Blanchard, and Lucinda J. Olsen of Pine Grove Mills; 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
For many years Mary had a booth at flea markets in Belleville and Penns Cave Nittany Antique Machinery Association. Mary had a great knowledge and love of antiques. She loved her family and was a very generous and loving person. She'll be greatly missed by her family.
Mary was the last of her generation, preceded by four sisters, Grace, Wilda, Bertha, and Ruth, and one brother, Norman.
Private services were held at the Valley Mennonite Church in Gregg Township, with the Reverend Marvin M. Freed.
Burial was in the Yearick Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, Millheim.
