George William "Bill" Baker, 87, lifelong resident of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, September 10, 2002, at Major Hospital.
Born May 1, 1915, in Rushville, he was the son of Homer and Jussie (Sagar) Baker. He married Mary Hendrickson on September 22, 1945, and she preceded him in death on June 18, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by one son, William Baker.
Mr. Baker was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was a press operator at Chrysler Corp. in Indianapolis for 34 years, retiring in 1980.
Funeral services will be Thursday at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Humphrey officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Shelby County, with military services conducted by local veterans organizations.
