Woodrow Wilfred Waggoner was born at Firth, Neb., March 15, 1923, and died Sept. 17, 1945. A graduate of Firth High School, he enlisted in the U. S. navy April 22, 1941 and served three years, eight months in the Panama Canal Zone and in the South Pacific. On July 5, 1944, he was married in Lincoln to the former Shirley Vaughn Boldt of Firth, Neb. After being honorably discharged from the navy Dec. 21, 1944, he moved with his wife to 2429 So. 13th, where he resided at the time of his death. Funeral services were held at the Firth Presbyterian church, of which he was a member, with the American Legion in charge. He was buried at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Waggoner is survived by his wife; his parents, two sisters, Lorraine and Mrs. Merle Hale of Lincoln; two brothers, William in the U.S. navy and Paul at Lincoln; grandparents, Mr. Henry Waggoner, and Mr. and Mrs. William Baker of Firth.
