Davis Willard Ryals Sr., 88, a native of Crenshaw County and a resident of Fairhope, died Thursday, March 18, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arrice J. Ryals and Emma Davis Ryals, one sister and two brothers.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific theater. His career took him to Huntsville, where he retired after 20 years of Civil Service at the Army Missel Command, Redstone Arsenal. He served as an officer in various church and community organizations, loved outdoor activities and especially being around his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Florrie Alburl Ryals; daughter, Susan Ryals (Bill) Luka; son, Davis W. (Judy) Ryals Jr.; three grandsons, Capt. Will (Kathryn) Luka, Bo Ryals and Matt Ryals, two granddaughters, Sarah Luka (Jason) LaSource and Allison Luka; great-granddaughter, Claire Luka; sister, Bernice Ryals Bodifordl nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19 at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
