This is a copy of his published death notice in the old Alamance Gleaner paper.

He was from Caswell and may have been born in Caswell... but, he died in Alamance County Maybe in or near the city of Graham the county seat then and now. Thought you would like to post it on his Memorial.. It's before 1922 so no copy right issues . But, post the source for historical Reference.. Regards, Edward L. Lipscomb

"A sudden death occurred here yesterday morning. Mr. James T. Byrd who came here from Caswell County a few weeks ago with his family to work in one of the cotton mills, had not been real well for some time. He got up about 5 o'clock yesterday, woke up the family and went back to bed.
When breakfast was ready he was called to breakfast, but failed to answer, and upon investigation was found to be dead. No one knew when he died.

He leaves a widow and several children. His remains will be buried today at Bethel, near his old home in Caswell County."
