He was the son of Frederick Ezell and Sarah Parker. He married Sarah Sutton about 1832 in North Carolina. Sarah was the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Sutton. There were nine children of this marriage.
He married Martha Jane Weatherly May 8 1860 in Jefferson County, MS. Martha was the daughter of Alfred E. Weatherly and Catherine Emfinger. There were nine children of this marriage.
