Services were today for Grace M. Uhlmann, 89, Springfield, who died Saturday in Balanced Care Springfield East. She was born June 13, 1907, in Owen County, Ind., a daughter of Jonas and Lydia Lockhart Burns. Shewas married April 16, 1927, in Flint, Mich., to Ernest Uhlmann, who preceded her in death. She helped operate Gambles Hardware Store, Ava, then retired in 1970 and moved to Springfield. She was a longtime member of the Ava United Methodist Church and the Amite Club of Ava. She was active in King's Way United Methodist Women, Springfield. Survivors include: one son, Jerry Uhlmann, Jefferson City; two daughters,Mildrend Hawkins and Doris Smith, both of Springfield; one sister, Louise Harrison, Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Burial was in Ava Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Ava United Methodist Church.
