EVA MARIE LENE
---Eva Marie Lene, age 83, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (September 8, 2004) at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
---Born March 4, 1921 in Adair, Missouri, she was the daughter of Aurthur Elmer and George Annie (Durham) Perry. On December 18, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri she married LaVerne E. Lene, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2003.
---Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers, Elmer Perry, Emmett Perry and Frederick Perry, and two sisters, Alice Nicholas and Mary Ruth Perry.
---She is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Lene and his wife, Lisa of Odessa, Florida and Randy L. Lene of La Plata, Missouri; three daughters, Vera L. West of Yakima, Washington, Helen Goodwin Scott and her husband, Ed of Kirksville, Missouri and Mary L. Ritenour and her husband, George of La Plata, Missouri; one sister, Hulda Lene of La Plata, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Shelia Kreutzman, David Goodwin, Laura Smith, Brandon Lene, Will Lene, Michael Lene, Amanda Lene, Matthew Lene, Christopher Lene and Justin Kirkpatrick; and eight great-grandchildren.
---Eva received her education in the Kirksville schools. She lived all of her life in Macon and Adair County, where she resided on her farm, west of La Plata since 1971. She was a member of the La Plata Baptist Church.
---Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (September 11, 2004) at the La Plata Baptist Church in La Plata, Missouri. Officiating was Brother Elmer McCully. Music was provided by Deanna Clevenger, playing and singing, "The Corner Stone" and "In The Garden".
---Burial was held in the La Plata Cemetery, La Plata, Missouri. Pallbearers were Ron Foster, Bill Stephenson, Howard Magers, Josh Larison, Brandon Lene and David Goodwin. Honorary Pallbearers were Glen Stephenson, Frank Longberger, Verlin Wilhite and Will Lene.
---Memorials in memory of Eva Marie Lene may be made to the La Plata Baptist Church or Hospice 2000. Memorial may be left at or mailed to Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
