Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Beckham Smith Brooks, age 88 of Dubach, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Harmony Chapel United Methodist Church in Hico with Rev. Don Lanier and Rev. Donald Cardin officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mrs. Brooks was born February 13, 1922 and died March 15, 2010 in Ruston. She was a member of Harmony Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brooks worked for the telephone company in her professional life. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing artwork, fishing, watching birds, tending flowers and refurbishing old trunks. She was also an avid reader and loved her dogs, especially her "Prissy" and "Sparky".
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her two sisters: Willie Mae Mettinger of California and Ruby Barnett of Dubach; her brother: Jack Beckham of Hico; her stepsons: Dale Brooks and wife Micky of Houston, TX and Glen Brooks of Milam, TX. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Harold Smith and Lyndel Brooks.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Harmony Chapel United Methodist Church in Hico.
