Boyd Jessie Thayer passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 in Jackson at the age of 86 years. He was born January 30, 1924 to Perry and Mable (Tubbs) Thayer in North Platte, Nebraska. Boyd was known for his happy personality and his love for his family. He enjoyed fishing, writing and his work as an electrical engineer in the space program. Boyd had a great love for life. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of NASA, American Legion and SIRS. "A great man has left us."
Boyd is survived by his wife, Betty; children, David Thayer, Christine Thayer, Karen Simonson; grandsons, Aaron Simonson, Jason Simonson, Matthew Allen and Robert Allen.
