William H. COLLINS was the second husband of my g2-grandmother, Pamelia Margaret (TAYLOR) WALKER. They married in Crawford County, Kansas, on 28/30 July 1876. The marriage license identifies the groom as "William H. COLLINS of Baker Township aged 43 years" and the bride as "Permelia {sic} WALKER of Baker Township aged 42 {sic} years".

William died in Crawford County before 24 Oct 1876, when the probate of his estate began. A handwritten note found among family paper (author unknown) gives his death date as 29 {sic} Oct 1876 . . . . . after probate began.

William's probate papers include payment requests for medical care provided for 2-3 children. One probate document mentions seven (7) heirs; but the only name given in any of the documents is James E. COLLINS (a minor), who became the ward of Pamelia's son, Martin Franklin 'Frank' WALKER. We don't know if James ran off or what because he was never enumerated with Martin WALKER's family in any census.

Crawford Co. Quit Claim Deed Records (Vol. G, pg 373) contains a deed for "Undivided Half (being dower) W. H. COLLINS Estate NE 1/2 22-30 25". Grantors were Panlina {sic} BUNCH and W. T. {sic} BUNCH. Grantee was W. A. BLACK.

No surviving WALKER Descendants knew of the marriage between William COLLINS and Pamelia until I found the marriage record and probate papers. We would like to locate Descendants of William and his first wife, and learn more about the COLLINS family.

NOTE: Pamelia Margaret (TAYLOR) WALKER COLLINS married William Penn BUNCH on 31 Oct 1878, probably in Missouri. They lived and died in Wellsville, Franklin County, Kansas.
