Dorothy Gilbreath, 70, a resident of Aransas Pass, Texas since 1956, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2002 at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1931 in Dublin , Texas to D. M. (Dudly Martin) & Ara May Fincannon. A loving mother, she served as Room Mother for all four of her children and was active in P.T.A. She served as Little League scorekeeper for many years and served as Democratic precinct captatin until her death. She retired from First State Bank asit was originally known, after 25 years of service and spent the last years doing what she loved most, working in her yard with her flowers and her dogs.
She is survived by her loving husband with whom she was to celebrate their 50 year anniversary this week, Billy Bruce Gilbreath, her two sons, Edwin "Bubba" Gilbreath of Aransas Pass, and Wayne Gilbreath of Fairbanks, Alaska, her two daughters, Mitzi (Warren) Strickland of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Tammy Gilbreath of Aransas Pass, two brothers, Floyd (Virginia) Fincannon of Morgan Mill, Texas and J.D. (Andrea) Fincannon of Temple, Texas, five sisters, Christine (Arzell) Hyche of Montgomery, Alabama, Mary Joyce McCamey of Proctor, Texas, Neva McCracken and Jeanette (Wilson) Wilcoxon of Stephenville, Texas, and Debbie (Clyde) Sublett of Beeville, Texas, five grandchildren, Shane Strickland, Blake Gilbreath, Grant Strickland, William Joseph Gilbreath and Brittany Gilbreath, and 2 great grandchildren, Benjamin Gilbreath and Kyla McKay.
