Florence was born February 13, 1888 in Centerfield, Sanpete County, Utah as the 8th child and 5th daughter of William David and Mary Ann Knighton Childs. On June 30, 1905 at the age of 17 she was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the following year on May 2nd she married Albert Edmond Higham. She received her endowments on February 25, 1925 in the Manti Temple at the age of 37. She and Albert had eight children together: Mary Ada Higham (1907-1985) who married Bernard Anderson, Edmond William Higham (1908-1989), Duella Higham (1909-2007) who married Howard Brereton Christensen, Drucilla Grace Higham (1916-2001) who married Cleve Lott, Saliena Higham (1919-1994) who married Deloyd Sidney Fjeldsted, Delmar Albert Higham (1920- ? ), Florence Alberta Higham (1924- ? ), and Gertrude Harriet Higham (1926-1926) who died as an infant from broncio-pneumonia. Florence passed away January 6, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is buried in Centerfield City Cemetery, Centerfield, Sanpete County, Utah.
