Who am I?
I am Theodore Douglas Robinson!
I was born on April 28, 1883, and died of pneumonia on April 10,1934, I am buried in the Robinson Cemetery in Columbia, NY.
I married my lovely wife Helen Rebecca Roosevelt in 1904 and we were blessed with 5 children: Douglas Robinson, Helen Robinson, Elizabeth Robinson, Martha Robinson, and Alida Robinson. My family owned an estate in Herkimer County since 1725, where I lived. You may have heard of it, The Henderson House.
In 1910 I ran for the NYS Legislature and lost to Charles Millington. I tried again in 1912 and won! I became part of the 135th NYS Legislature as a NYS Assemblyman.
After enrolling in the Army, I returned to NY and from 1921-1924 I was once more a NYS Assemblyman serving in the 144th, 145th, 146th, and 147th NYS Legislatures. I introduced many bills including one for stray cats, the census of men and materials, and led an investigation into John Francis Hylan, the Mayor of NYC. From 1924 to 1929, I was appointed Assistant Secretary of the Navy by Calvin Coolidge.
You may recognize the name of my mother's brother, he was only the Governor of New York State, and the President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt.
