Obituary for Dennard Reagan Armstrong

Dennard Reagan Armstrong, age 81 of Richwood, TX, went to be with his Lord and family on Friday October 30, 2009. He was born in Henderson, TX, on April 16, 1928, to Dallas Dow and Myrtle Florence (Dunaway) Armstrong.

Reagan moved to the Brazosport area when he was 16 years old to work for Dow Chemical Co. In 1950 he joined the U.S. Army to serve his country in the Korean War, in the 58th Military Police Co. where he received the Korean Service metal and four bronze service stars and the UN service metal. Upon his return from the service he married Mildred Maurice Kindle in 1963. Together they raised three children. He was a devoted family man and a die-hard Republican. He belonged to many different organizations. He loved being in the outdoors, loved to hunt in the Hill Country and Piney Woods of East Texas, with many big bucks to his name. He also loved to fish the Brazos River for big catfish. He spent many hours working in his yard, keeping it beautiful with many flowers, trees, and especially the bluebonnets that were his pride and joy. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mildred Armstrong; and his parents, Dallas Dow and Myrtle Florence Armstrong.

He is survived by his daughters, Betty Kindle Mitcham of Angleton, TX, Pat Mills and her husband, Gilbert, of Baton Rouge, La.; and one son, Shawn L. Morlan and his wife, Kim, of Richwood, TX.
