The names of Celia Elizabeth's parents are unknown because her family was killed by Indians during the Indian Wars in Florida. A unit of Georgia soldiers found the burned homestead. While they were buring the dead they heard a baby crying. They finally found the baby in a cradle with the name "Elizabeth" carved into the cradle hidden in a myrtle thicket. The soldiers took her with them. When back in Georgia the soldier Holder took her home and raised her. Later the Holder family moved to Alachua County, Florida. She married the son of her foster family, the marriage recorded in Marriage Book 2 of Alachua County Florida.
