Richard Dean Hedgecoke, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pringle-Morse School Auditorium in Morse with Ray DeBord and Ed Hedgecoke officiating. Burial will be in Lieb's Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Hedgecoke was born in Endee, N.M., on March 26, 1917, to John and Lela Hedgecoke, the fifth of six children. He was reared in Plemons and Stinnett and was a 1935 graduate of Stinnett High School. He married Opal Hart in 1939 and she preceded him in death. He then married Betty Jo Conrad in 1986. He was a well respected rancher in Hansford County. He was a friend to many and will be sorely missed. He was a lifelong member of the Texas Cattleman's Association.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Ray DeBord and wife, Diana, of Bedford and Neal DeBord and wife, Tona, of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Deana Milliron of Amarillo; numerous nephews, nieces, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a step-granddaughter, Janice Maupin of Morse.

The family will receive friends friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
