She was the daughter of George Brown and Irena Stevenson.

"Mrs. Josie Marie Allen, 83 of Williamsport died Sunday in Meadow Heights Nursing Home where she was admitted Sept. 17. Born at Cambria, she had lived a short time at Cutler.

Her first marriage was to Dale O. Rush, who died in 1940. Her second marriage was in 1950 to Charles Smith, who died in 1963. She was married in 1964 to Willis Allen, who preceded her in death in 1966.

She was a member of the Christian Church and Carroll County Chapter of Grange.

Surviving are two daughters; three sons; three stepsons, Dorval and Lawrence Allen, both of Flora, and Harold Allen of
Cutler; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wanda Shonk of Flora; two sisters; 13 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
