He was a pioneer citizen and post master of Tulsa. He later moved to Siloam Springs to operate the Gypsy Camp.

His father, Wesley M. McAllister, was a methodist minister and a Confederate Vetern and is burried in in Tulsa's Oaklawn Cemetery.
