Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Will and Essie Vance.
He was a retired factory worker. He was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and David Vance, and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Hunt Vance of McHenry, Ilinois.; a son, John (Ruby) Vance of Central City; 3 daughters, Carol (Dan) Chapman of Belvidere, Illinois, Judy (Rick) Filip of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and Robin (Mark) Kolmodin of Homer Glen, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. June 11 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating.
Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro.
