Funeral services for Mrs. D. P. Winegeart, 58, were held Sunday afternoon, June 14, from the Baptist church in Wellington.
Mrs. Winegeart died at her home five miles west of here, Sunday morning at 12:30 o'clock following a recent illness which resulted in pneumonia. She was born in Louisiana and had been a resident of this county for many years. She had many friends in this section who mourn her passing and was loved by her neighbors and friends.
Annie Willmerth was born Feb. 1, 1877 at Alexandria, LA and at the time of her death, June 13, was 58 years, four months and 13 days of age. She was married to D. P. Winegeart on Dec. 27, 1892 and was converted in early life and joined the Baptist church when only 14 years of age. She has lived a consecrated life since and always had a smile for everyone she met. One daughter, Pearl, preceded her in death.
She moved from Louisiana to Fisher County, Texas, in 1907, and in 1911 came to Collingsworth county where she has since resided.
In addition to her husband, D. P. Winegeart, she is survived by twelve children, five daughters: Mrs. F.G. Dorsey of Coleman, Mrs. L.F. Browning of Denworth, Mrs. A.E. Bean of Pampa, Mrs. Raymond Frier of Coleman, and Mrs. A.W. Gilbreath of Quail; seven sons: J. H. Winegeart and T.E. Winegeart, both of Quail; S.B. Winegeart of Dozier, A.J. Winegeart of Wellington, M.L. Winegeart of Magic City, W.M. Winegeart of Quail, and George Winegeart of Wellington.
She is also survived by 37 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Eugenia Ballard of Oakland, LA and many other relatives.
