Find Mrs. Ochampaugh Dead at Home in Glen
FONDA—The funeral of Mrs. Mina Cole Ochampaugh, who died
suddenly, at her home in Glen Tuesday night, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Morris funeral home in Fultonville. Rev. Albert H. Van Dyke, pastor of the Glen Reformed church, will officiate. Burial will be In the
Maple Avenue cemetery, Fultonville.
Mrs. Ochampaugh, who had been a resident of Glen for over
5O years, made her home in Fonda during the winter months with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ochampaugh, Broadway. She had returned May 1 to Glen after spending the past winter here. She was found dead Tuesday night, shortly after 9 o'clock, by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ochampaugh, Fonda, who had called to visit her.
They found the body lying on a sofa. Coroner John Morris of Fultonville, who was called, gave a verdict of death due to coronary thrombosis and Dr. Frits Popper, acting as coroner's physician, estimated death had occurred three or
four hours prior to finding the body. She had visited the Frank Lathers' store at Glen about 10:30 o'clock and had not been seen since then.
Mrs. Ochampaugh was born at Esperance on July 20, 1871, the
daughter of Peleg and Johanna Herrick Cole. Her husband, Albert Ochampaugh, died in 1928. She was a member of the Glen Reformed church, the Ladies' Aid society of the church and the Glen Sunshine club.
The survivors include a son, Frank, Fonda; one brother, Harry Cole, Amsterdam; four grandsons; petty officer, second class, Roland H. Ochampaugh, Fonda now in service in the South Pacific; Elwyn I Ochampaugh, Fonda; Staff Sgt. Albert Ochampaugh, Camp Chaffee, Ark.; Corp. Robert Ochampaugh, Camp Rucker, Ala., two granddaughters, Mrs.
Dexter Sweet, Fonda, and Mrs. Joseph Rigler, Syracuse; four greatgrandchildren, Gloria and Wayne Ochampaugh, Fonda, and Constance and Michael Rigler, Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
