Ruby N. Krueger, 72, of Great Bend, died Dec. 4 at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 2, 1936, at Cummings, the daughter of Maberly T. and Pansy R. Newman. She married Dr. Haven C. Krueger on Aug. 18, 1957, at Cummings. She was a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica of Atchison and of the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and education. She was a former elementary teacher in Kansas City, Kan., and Rochester, Minn., and a bookkeeper. She had been a resident of Great Bend since 1972, coming from Prairie Village.
Mrs. Krueger was a member of First United Methodist Church, UMW, Central Kansas Medical Center Auxiliary, Kansas Medical Society Auxiliary, National League of Cities, League of Women Voters, City/County Planning Commission and a Great Bend City Council member from 1979 to 1985.
Survivors include her husband, Haven C. Krueger, M.D., of the home; two sons, Michael R. Krueger of Kansas City, Mo., and Bryan C. Krueger of Gladstone, Mo.; two daughters, Elisabeth K. Luthi of Overland Park and Lisa M. Schober of Stilwell; a brother, Thomas M. Newman of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Grace Sheeley of Nortonville; and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Round Mound Cemetery, Atchison, with the Rev. Beverly Bowyer officiant. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the family to receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Ruby Krueger Scholarship Fund may be made in care of the funeral home.
