Jacob Wilbur Barth, 87, engaged in the real estate and insurance business here 35 years, died at 12:45 pm Thursday in his home at 805 E.Johns Ave.
Mr. Barth, a member of the First English Lutheran church, came to Decatur from Maroa in 1892.
He was born in Newark,Ohio, April 7, 1860, a son of Michael and Anna Dittus Barth and was married to Barbara Klenk in Bell Center,Ohio, Dec. 27, 1899.
Besides his wife he leaves five children, Harold W. "Pete" of Decatur, Miss Anna M.Barth and Miss Erma F.Barth both at home, Miss Claribel Barth of Harvey and David K. Barth,Chicago. There is one sister, Mrs.Anna Rippens,Louisville, Colo. and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Saturday in the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home where friends may call. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
