Last week we received the news that on the previous Sunday Mrs. Louise Kazmeier one of the oldest pioneer women of this area, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Graff in town Rhine.
The deceased was born on July 30, 1824 in Germany and had reached the high age of 93 years, and was one of the first settlers in this part of the state. She came to Wisconsin as a 14 year old girl with her parents and settled on a farm near Kiel. At that time this area was a wilderness and very sparcely settled. When she grew to a young woman she married Fr. Kazmeier and the couple lived for many years on a farm in Town Schleswig. About 25 years ago the couple moved to Elkhart Lake for their retirement, and after 12 years to their son-in-law Wm. Graff in Town Rhine where Mr. Kazmeier died 8 years ago.
The marriage was blessed with six children of whom two have died. The survivors are Mrs. Wm. Graff, Mrs. George Ruckweed, Mrs. Peter Arnold and Adam Kazmeier, the last two live in Kiel, also one brother, Mr. Geo Ruckweed from Crystal Lake. Additionally she is survived by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The burial took place at the Rockville Cemetery with pastor Mueller officiating.

On Tuesday afternoon the mother of Adam Kazmeier was buried in the Rockville Cemetery. She had died in the home of her son-in-law Mr. Wm. Graf near Elkhart Lake. Five children survive her.
