Mattie was the daughter of William HUFFORD (b. 1818, KY) and Mary Ann ARMSTRONG (b. 1810, KY) and the sister of Susan A. (m. GILLESPIE), William Jacob, and John H. On August 15, 1868, in Ray County, Missouri, Mattie married Henry DAY. They were the parents of Susan Ann, Elizabeth, William Joseph, Nancy, Henry, George W., Maud, Dora, Addie, Robert, and Daisy (plus one other child, name not known). Mattie was widowed in 1896.
